Dollhouse thoughts
Straight under the cut.
Felt very surreal to see Faith, Fred, a kind of Lilah/Gwendolyn Post, and an Andrew/Knox in the episode. Joss sticks to types.
I'll definitely watch it next week, but I wasn't instantly in love -- but I felt that way a little about the first episode of Firefly (not surprising as they aired them out of order...) and loved it passionately very soon after.
I liked the BSG guy who was going after Dollhouse and I enjoyed the inter-cut boxing scene. Heavy handed way of getting the message across? Sure; but humorous and subtle, too, looked at another way. Hi, Joss! Missed you.
Liked Echo's handler with a conscience (do not expect me to remember any names just yet; Echo is the only one that stuck). Loved the fakeout when we're not sure if she's been wiped. Liked the rescue of the little girl; that felt quite tense and edgy. This show is darker; you're not sure everyone will get saved.
Would have liked: more interaction with the other operatives; I get that wiped, they're not totally there, but they're capable of speech and sympathy so you'd expect them to talk a bit. If they can't, that's a bit of a problem in some ways.
Want to know, so they got me intrigued; why Caroline had to sign up for it. Who was watching the tape and who were the dead bodies. Who provides the imprint personalities; one of them was dead; are they all dead? If the one was a suicide, how could they grab her memories? Ack. Confused on that.
And the eternal problem; you're top secret, but you want customers; how do you get them?
I used to wear dresses as short as Echo's white one...::facepalm:; Sheesh, it looked more like a top.
