The Sentinel Vid 'Stray Cat Strut'

I finished the vid I was working on; pure fun, this one, and there's a bit in it that makes me grin happily every time I see it (heck, even David thought it was funny and he views vids with a deep and abiding apathy).

It's The Stray Cats' song, Stray Cat Strut, which I saw them do live at the Student's Union bar way back when.

Summary: Blair's humping table legs and Jim's watching, bemused. Definitely not a slash vid except this is TS so if you wanted to read it as Blair trying to provoke Jim into pouncing on him, well, I'm not going to stop you...

Birthdays, playroom, LMFA nominations

First, many apologies because I missed your birthday yesterday, aimeelicious; barely had time to breathe and completely forgot to check the birthday list. Hope you had a wonderful day celebrating :;hugs you::

Well, today was BACK TO SCHOOL DAY!!!!!!

Yes, it gets all-caps and an excess of exclamation points. As the school bus pulled away with all our darlings on it, a spontaneous, ragged cheer burst out from the parents and the arms that had been waving goodbye, punched the air jubilantly.

Don't say ANYTHING. It's been a long summer, m'kay?

I had a cumulative freakout on Sunday night. The playroom has been getting steadily messier until it'd reached the point where it was impossible for anyone but the cats to walk across it and have their feet on bare carpet the whole way.

I took a large bin bag in and filled it. And another. And a third. Then I discovered the paper I was trying to pick up was GLUED to the carpet. Much glue everywhere, in fact. Glitter glue. Washable, my pert and perky ass.

So when I went to bed at midnight, the playroom contents had been moved next door to the library and the room was empty.

Labor Day, after brunch at our friends' house, I touched up the walls where the paint had been scuffed, did my best with the carpet, and got rid of another couple of bin bags.

That place is now tidy. They mess it up again and it's getting taken off them; they've got bedrooms and the basement, after all.

I was cheered muchly by finding out a lot of stories/vids/me have made the final nominations at the Light My Fire Awards. Like a lot of other people on my f-list, I'm now faced with the task of paring down 38 separate nominations to ten ::flails::

Some are easy to take off the list (well, not easy but they have to go). Point of Contact is almost done, but it is still technically a WiP and the rules don't allow them, but thank you so much to the people who nominated it; for a crack!fic I wrote as an impulsive one-off, it's got more feedback than anything I've done in this fandom and it's novel-sized now. Wow.

I appreciate all the nominations so much; I've only been in the fandom a year and it's been such a happy year and I've felt so welcomed and met such lovely people ::hugs you all tight::

Right. Off to work this out. I may be some time.

So how come Simon's all 'no fraternisation!' when Blair and Cassie have an innocent lunch at work, right there in the open, but not a word is said about Sam (eyebrow-burning off hussy!) walking into Major Crimes and lip-locking Blair into asphyxia? Why is she okay to date but not Cassie, also in Forensics (in fact, does Cassie replace Sam, who had previously replaced Carolyn? Or are there more than one of them? Serena; is she Forensics, too?
