Three lovely people celebrate today:
begonia125rose,
sara_merry99 and
astridaria.
Wishing you all the best of all possible days and sending virtual cake in whatever flavour you like best (me, it's chocolate sponge, with peppermint buttercream filling and chocolate icing... my aunt used to make me one and it was the most lucious, melt in your mouth cake imaginable.
::much love::
And speaking of that aunt, her sister sort of got a mention in the new Thursday next book, 'First Among Sequels'.
There's a running joke about cheese smuggling from Wales and Thursday meets with a cheese smuggler to buy some top-notch cheese:
"Caerphilly," he said, "the best. We can --"
I put up a hand to stop him.
"The punks can deal with the mild stuff, Owen. We're interested in Level 3.8 and above."
He shrugged, set the Caerphilly down and picked up a small chunk of creamy-coloured cheese.
"Quintuple Llanboidy," he announced. "A 5.2. It'll play on your taste-buds like the plucked strings of a harp."
Her sister makes Llanboidy on her small farm in Wales; it's very well-thought of; won loads of awards; you get it in Harrods, even. She's retiring now so I'm not sure what will happen to it but I remember having some and liking it.
Fanfiction gets mentioned in the book, too, which made me smile.
