Talisker

Talisker's gone. They didn't do the operation; his white blood cell count was through the roof, red ones non-existent. He'd have needed two transfusions and that would have brought with it its own risks.

There was nothing more they could do. We drove down, held him, and he went with his head cradled in my hand. It was over in the space of a few seconds. He looked as if he was still sleeping, bless him.

Sue said she'd never known such a fighter and said he was a complete gentleman, who'd never once scratched or bitten her.

We're all devastated here and missing him so much already.

I just saw this. I had my phone shut off for a few days and couldn't get online. I'm so sorry for your loss-Tally sounded like a real sweetheart, and it's got to be hard to lose him after such a long time, and the struggle to help him. But you and the vets did all you could. I know that's small consolation; but you've got a long life of happy memories with him to balance against the recent pain. I hope that helps, eventually.
