Begovic!

Last season, the Stoke goalie took a free kick from his goal that the wind grabbed and the ball flew the length of the pitch and into the other goal. Total fluke but it was the longest goal ever and he's in the Guinness book of Records for it. Thanks for telling me, Mum!
I watched it live and it was amazing.

'Pride' movie

Mum also mentioned she's going to see a movie called 'Pride'. Not heard about it over here but I do hope we get it too. It's based on real life; an LGBT group who raised money for the striking miners in the homophobic eighties and went to deliver it to a town in South Wales, unsure of their reception.

I was a student at the time and my parents were very heavily involved with supporting the local miners, standing with them on the picket lines, raising money, and they also made food runs to South Wales. I think they were given a medal when it ended in token of all they did. I was there the first time Kinnock and Scargill shared a stage and all in all, it's something our family felt very strongly about.

The movie sounds like a must-see. I hope I do get to watch it.
