Renovation finished!

Well, apart from a new lighting fixture and threshold, but the door is on, the loo flushes, and it no longer leaks under the sink!

We did it all ourselves, taking hours here and there over the last three weeks.

Word of advice; avoid Ralph Lauren metallic paint. It's hellishly expensive and goes on terribly.

Totally gutted the room, replaced bits of drywall, painted (ten bloody coats, thank you for nothing, RL) replastered, put down new subfloor and granite tiles, installed new loo and granite topped vanity.

Total cost, around $1500, which isn't bad. The vanity was 80% off b/c it's last year's color or something.

Thank you! If David had taken time off, it would've been faster, but there's so many times you have to wait for stuff to dry before you can move on it would've been a waste, so we did it in dribs and drabs.

Looks good... and who in their right mind cares that something is 'last year's colour' if you like it. 'Fashion colours' for 'this year' (especiallyl when it means you can't buy anything in a colour you like or that suits you) is something that has always struck me as idiotic, and 80% off is a great deal.

In the warehouse sale area were white cabinets, pine, and espresso; what colors are left to be IN fashion?! And it's going to last us for years so any color we chose would've become 'last year's' pretty soon, heh.
