First my latest icon, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] gwynnega, beautifully in tune with this week's theme ;-)

Second, if you aren't reading [livejournal.com profile] willshenillshe's series of slash sonnets, you're missing a real treat. Her Giles/Wes, Xander/Oz, Giles/Angel ones in particular have had me open mouthed as I struggled between 'wow' and 'guh'. Lovely imagery and detailed, exquisite writing. Dark edged and delicate.

Thirdly, is it me or is 'No Place Like Home', the episode where Buffy meets Glory and finds out about Dawn, pretty darn scary in places? I watched it last night and even now when I can spot the misdirection (and they took it a tad too far with Dawn and the cup of tea because really, how would she know Joyce was going to come home early? You don't make tea hours before) it's still pressing all my scary buttons.

Dawn appearing, watching silently, saying so much that could mean she's evil ::shiver:: One of the few dreams I remember in my life (out of a handful that have stayed with me) was my family turning into vampires (foreshadowing, much? ::grin::) and me trying to run from them but half wanting to give in, let them turn me, let me belong. Family turning fiendish; very nasty.

And Glory doing that dancing step as she crept up behind Buffy, grinning widely, finger to her lips? God, that creeps me out completely.

Actually, when you add in the huge plot developement, fractures in Riley/Buffy, 'Out For A Walk ...Bitch', and the adorable sub plot of Giles and Anya in the Magic Box, it's an excellent episode all around; really jam packed with significance and stuff.
