Thrilled to learn that Lucky Strike my m/m/m SF romance from Riptide has been nominated for this year's Gaylactic Spectrum Award for best novel.

http://www.spectrumawards.org/20142015.htm

Looking at the other books on the list, many of which I've read and loved, I'm prepping my 'it was an honor to be nominated' speech, heh, but even so, very chuffed.
'Closing the Loop' is now available from Riptide and every other place you can buy books. Full list, with buy links, excerpt, and all the fun stuff is here:

And today kicks off the blog tour. Want a signed paperback copy of Lucky Strike, another of my Riptide books?

Comment at Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words to be entered into the giveaway.

'Closing the Loop' my BDSM novella from Riptide, is now available for pre-order at a special price. It will come out on May 25 and is set partly in Mississauga and partly a tropical gay cruise.

I know where I'd rather be right now...

Closing the Loop.

A week on a tropical gay cruise is just what Lee needs after a bad breakup and a Canadian winter. It’s a shame his ex is on board, but Lee is sharing a cabin with Cole, a hot lawyer who—as luck would have it—is actually from Lee’s city. So when Cole unexpectedly awakens Lee’s kinky side, Lee begins to dream that they can actually take their shipboard romance home with them.

But Cole is keeping secrets involving a troubled young man on board the ship. And Lee, after his recent brush with betrayal, finds it difficult to trust Cole when he says Justin isn’t a rival.

Then he learns the truth and is also drawn into the tragic story. His dream vacation is in danger of turning dark, but he’s determined to navigate Cole and himself to a safe harbor before their blisteringly hot romance is lost at sea.

Death's a heartbeat away, but love's even closer.

Flying a passenger to the luxury planet Crestal in time for Leap celebrations is no problem for intrepid partners Jake and Rill, even if they have to navigate a deadly meteor shower to get there. But their fresh-faced, privileged passenger is carrying more than Leap gifts. Lian has a message to deliver, treachery and murder to avenge, and a killer close on his heels.

Lian thought he was ready for independence from his overbearing extended family, but his first solo trip off-planet has landed him in a nightmare of deadly intrigue. Though he's devastated by betrayal, and no longer able to tell friend from foe, he's fascinated by the gruff pilot and scorchingly handsome first mate who've become his reluctant rescuers.

With a dazzling fortune at stake and the fate of the United Protectorate of Planets in their hands, there's no time for the three men to fall in love. But with their future measured in hours, crew and passenger may have just enough time to discover that three can become one, and that together they are strong enough to beat any odds.

This is the first prompt and it's for [personal profile] oddmonster who asked for Nick/Cody, Riptide, "Where have you been?"

Birthday Boy

"Where have you been?"

Cody's smile slips. "For a drink. Okay, lots of drinks. I'm drunk." He opens his arms. "Take advantage of me. I'm up for anything."

Nick sighs and finally Cody gets his hug, strong arms making the world steady again.

"I had plans, birthday boy. A meal out, a ride in Mimi to a deserted beach, sand in your ass…"

"I'm forty." It's surprising how much he cares. "Not something to celebrate."

Nick growls, sexy as hell. "We're still together. In love. That's not worth celebrating?"

Always.

Cody smiles, and drops to his knees to apologize properly.

I was searching for this as Richard Burgi is in three episodes (S4 and 5) and S1 comes out in June on Amazon:

Jake and the Fatman.

It stars Joe Penny from Riptide as Jake Styles; never seen it but I'm tempted even without RB; what's it like? It seems to be a spin-off from Matlock, which RB also guest starred in.

And now I'm wondering just when we're getting more seasons of The Sentinel, but that's a perennial wonder.
More Friday LJ-spamming...

The post just arrived and whee, I have Riptide S3! And, to get free shipping, I cracked and bought Starship Troopers 2, for the topless Richard Burgi and absolutely nothing else as everything I've heard about it is on the dire side. Factoring in the free shipping, it cost $6, which is just about allowable as a treat, I guess; a rental costs that much.

I will screencap anything in the eye candy line :-)
I've never done one of these, with screencaps and all, so this is going to be interesting. And long.

Canon proof of Riptide shower smut :-) It's 29 minutes in on 'It's a Vial Sort of Business'.

I'm going through my Riptide DVDs and watching an episode a day. Yesterday (the school reunion one) nearly broke me with Nick in tears for a solid two minutes, voice breaking, eyes and face wet, and Cody and Murray watching him, just in an agony of wanting to hug him but being too much guys to go there (had to have been major comforting going on later, though, once Murray was in bed, yes).

Today's is more lighthearted and I had to pause because Cody's phoning someone from the Riptide and there's a sticker on the wall by his head that says, 'Save water - shower with a friend'.

::head explodes with the canon shower smut implications::

I mean; he lives on a boat with two men and a robot; who the hell is he going to be showering with if it's not Nick and Murray? And we got to see the bedroom again with those two beds, side by side in that small room...

These are from 2.2 'The Orange Grove'. You get all three in uniform (nice) but it's at the end when Murray is wearing his uniform jacket open over very little that I melted down. And then they all started staring at each others' shorts :;dies::

I only did one (shareable) icon as the pics weren't very iconable; you lose their expressions. They really are off the scale cute at times.

Just ordered Riptide S2 (not showing on Amazon.com, for some reason, but out on Oct 30th on Amazon.ca. and really, really cheap)

Also, I might have bought a used, also incredibly cheap vid of Richard Burgi as an alien in 'I Married a Monster' and might have spent some time fruitlessly searching for some way of getting to see 'Wheelmen' (also starring RB) because the trailer (found under 'Publicity') looks hilarious (the write-ups aren't good, but, eh, who cares).

This is what happens when writer's block hits me; I think I will switch off the computer and go to bed, quick, before I spend any more money.

And I'm still using too many parentheses. Why? (Tell me; why?).

I watched another S1 Riptide episode last night, Double Your Pleasure.

Slashiest one yet. Oddly, it's the one where Cody falls in love, but really, that makes sense; Blind Man's Bluff is super-slashy and yet Jim's chasing Margaret the whole time.

Cody, in the grip of infatuation, turns on his friends and chooses her over them.

Then he's in a serious car accident...

Watch this two minute clip

http://www.mediafire.com/?bzsmmbybzjr

and insert the characters of your choice in the dialogue from part way through it and die of envy that Nick/Cody slashers got this:

Nick (standing by bed, Cody lying down): "Cody, look, you know that thing you said about how girls look at you and I don't like it? Well, that's not true, you know. I mean, I really think it'd be terrific if you found someone and you fell in love. You know?"

Cody (weakly). "Thank you."

Nick (stunned). "You're not in love, are you?"

Cody looks at him and chuckles, which hurts. "Come on... don't make me laugh... but I'll tell you something, Nick."

Nick. "What?"

Cody. "I think you were right. You know, I think maybe I was moving too fast." Taps Nick's stomach. Nick looks at Cody's hand and takes it and they stand there, holding hands for a long, long time.

It's not letting me get to my webpage server to edit or upload. I'm getting a file not found error. I refuse to panic just yet. I'm paid up with Totalchoice until December and it worked this morning, darn it.

So I'm experimenting with Scrapbook. I'm curious; do the Riptide guys always share a bedroom like this, or is it just the pilot? Because, way to make it easy...

I just had to share the two minutes where they're rushing around in their (tight, brief) undies shooting guns and having a car chase.

Even if I'm biting down hard on my knuckle to hold back the whimper that Jim and Blair never got to do this. 60+ episodes and they couldn't have fitted it in? Well, I suppose we sort of had it in True Crime. Sort of.

http://www.mediafire.com/?7iz33qw8m35

And, yes, their jeans are tight. Good grief.

But they're very cute and despite the girl chasing, the slash slaps you in the face.

Hey, they're the ones talking about putting collar and leashes on each other, not me!
