We just went out to dinner in a place that had live music about three feet from our table.

IT WAS LOUD. My ears are buzzing in a way I associate with Motorhead concerts in my past.

So we joked that we should get out our phones and text to converse because we were shouting and so Steve was showing off his Iphone and I texted (being squiffly) 'OMG, you big show-off' and waited, smiling, for him to get it.

Except he didn't.

For ages. No text.

Then I got a text back 'Who is this?'

and realized I'd input Steve's number one digit wrong when I added him as a contact.

I immediately dashed off an apologetic text to this COMPLETE STRANGER saying basically 'new phone, idiot middle-aged user, so, so sorry' and was much relieved to get a reply saying 'LOL never mind.'

This is why I shouldn't have new shiny things ::whimpers::
