I watched 1.08 and realized to my chagrin that my first Suits fic is completely useless because Harvey's desk doesn't HAVE drawers, it's more of a table, and those floor to ceiling glass walls don't have blinds.
Well, how silly is that? How are they supposed to have sex on the desk when anyone can look in and see them?
I was planning to be good and research the layout of Harvey's apartment as best I can, but I guess the office will have to stay wrong; I need that drawer and the blinds, darn it :-)
It reminds me of writing Buffy fic and giving Giles an upstairs with a few bedrooms when in fact it's a loft apartment and there's just a single bedroom at the top of the stairs.
Bad Jane.
Moving on to the episode...
I liked that we got to see even more of Louis' vulnerability here (I cannot type his name easily AT ALL) and he and Harvey have such an interesting dynamic. Don't want to slash them right now, but I could...
Are they trying to make out that Louis is gay? I might be reading too much into his love of Queen and Prince; I mean, my dad, brother, and husband all love/loved Queen (as do I) and they're straight (not sure how they feel about Prince, though again, I'm a fan (She wore a raspberry beret, the kind you find...sorry)). Then there was the way he offered to do tequila shots with the young, curly haired blond guy, the one he'd refused to let go to the bathroom. There was a definite moment there.
I do think that since Harvey did give him credit, it wouldn't have killed Jessica and client to find Louis and thank him too. I hated seeing all the jubilation fade from his face. He does it to himself, but God, working with Harvey must work a lot of people's last nerve.
The secondary case, eh. Clumsily done to get the records hacked to help Harvey and then Mike. It was pointless other than that. I still wonder; if she made Mike say 7th in his year, that means the real seventh person gets dropped to eight and so on down the line. Would people spot that? Am I reading too much into it? Probably...
So two subordinates were cheeky to Harvey: Mike and Donna. I liked his instinctive What did you just say? but also the way that he accepted it from both of them without getting all huffy. With Mike because he saw it as a promising sign of growth, with Donna because she was a. right and b. Donna. I love Donna but I hope they don't over-use her or make her too powerful; it could tip too far. Though Louis calling her plankton and he was a whale...well, he was just asking for it there.
Mike went into a bit of a tizzy but I suppose I can't blame him. He really wants this and the thought of losingHarvey his job must prey on his mind.
I really prefer the episodes with no girl friends/love interests. I liked that hacker client showed no signs of falling for Mike instantly the way a BOTW often does; she just didn't want a debt to go unpaid. Plus, she'd seen his apartment. Eesh.
I hear the show's been given a second season. Yay. I can relax into it.
