Seriously, Neopets is like my new fandom :-)
Remember the inflated junk items last week? That ended today and a new daily event was revealed -- you give the scientist MORE worthless yet suddenly incredibly expensive items and get a random event; stats increase/decrease on a neopet, an item, nothing...
When L and I clicked on the page at 5.00 p.m, and saw it wanted more stuff not a fun new plot we screamed long and loud and stamped our feet.
Not sure if you have to give him something every time to press the red button; I'll find out tomorrow.
ANYWAY, that first wash of random events gifts has brought Neopians to pitchfork waving mob levels of rage.
Why? Some people, quite a few, got avatars. Retired avatars. Incredibly rare avatars (Lost Desert stamp collector avvie with three stamps on their page anyone? That's like 300 million NP right there.)
Avatars are icons the site awards; some are simple to get, some take years of effort and untold millions of NPs.
Apparently getting the avvies as prizes is supposed to be super incredible rare and the coding glitched. Doesn't matter.
We are talking meltdown of epic proportions here on the neoboards. EPIC.
Me, I got a petpetpet. A dragonfly nymph. No idea if it's valuable; all the ones on the Trading Post have no price.
