The Parents TV Council has ranked Angel as their sixth worst show because;
"This Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off stars David Boreanaz as a centuries-old vampire searching for redemption while fighting evil in Los Angeles.

Despite its young target audience, Angel routinely features gory violence and graphic sexual encounters. Scenes frequently involve intense fighting, blood, decapitations, and more. The series also sends a dangerous and irresponsible message to teenage fans by equating violence with sexual excitement. In many scenes, characters become aroused by fighting. For example, in one episode, Lilah bites Wesley’s ear and shoves him to the floor. After a bit of rough foreplay, she and Wesley are lying on the floor together. Wesley’s head moves out of the frame toward her legs. She smiles with pleasure and breathes heavily, suggesting that he is performing oral sex on her. "

I don't even know where to start making fun of this...but whoever described that sex scene needs to include way more detail to keep me reading.
I hop up and down when there's a Buffy reference in mainstream culture. In this case, the new Nora Roberts book, Chesapeake Blue (now there's a woman whose work I'd recognise blindfold so to speak). The hero is asking his date questions to find out if they're compatible, in a joky way; bath/shower, cats/dogs.

"Who would you trust, with your life, against the forces of evil? Superman or Batman?"

"Buffy - the vampire slayer."

"Get out." He swigged beer. "Superman. It _has_ to be Superman."

"One whiff of kryptonite and he's down for the count. Besides" - she polished off her slice and went for another -"Buffy has a much more interesting wardrobe."

He shook his head in disgust."
