Whole lot of bits

First the happy, or, in this case, Happy Birthday to superplin. Hope it was a good one! ::hugs::

Not so happy is David coming back from taking my parents to the airport for their 9.30 flight to Manchester and telling me that bloody My Travel have amalgamated their flight with another, on a whim, and it left at 5.30.

Parents will now have to go to Gatwick via Montreal and then will be stranded in London. As Mum is disabled (has mono-neuritis multiplex) and will be practically dead when she gets off the plane anyway, the hassle and a three hour cab drive up the motorway is not what she needs, especially with jet lag and my dad going spare and fretting as I'm sure he is.

I'm also still recovering from yesterday when, in the middle of the party we were giving to say goodbye to them, I discovered someone (my money's on Lauren) had apparently deleted my Nescape profile in an undoable act of madness.

My guests all know me well, but I think I must have looked frightening as I told them all in a quiet monotone just exactly what that meant. Two of the young boys clung to their mother and said they wanted to go home, and no it wasn't them, they hadn't done it, until I reassured them ;-)

Steve, the pet, seeing how tense I was, went into the computer room and did stuff and after a heartstopping few minutes, we found out that it wasn't gone so much as renamed. Yes, 'Jane' had become 'jh9jio0' and instead of being an available profile was buried in the depths of the hard drive,

Don't ask, just don't ask...

I couldn't do anything. LJ wouldn't let me on. I couldn't remember my password and they would only email it to my email which I couldn't get at, I had no way of accessing my web page because it's got one of those passwords you can't remember and, as I thought, the folder I'd saved it in was floating on the ether.

Total meltdown and panic and distress.

Tomorrow I'm backup girl.
