First, as always, the birthdays, because that's where they belong; wishing the happiest of birthdays to [livejournal.com profile] synedochic and [livejournal.com profile] alixtii! Do hope you both have wonderfully happy days :;hugs::

With the hive mind as it is, I wasn't at all surprised to see [livejournal.com profile] flaming_muse post about something I was just going to post about and I bet it's not just us, either; namely, actors playing different characters (who thought THAT one up? :;rolls eyes at crazy people::) and confusing us.

I'm mainlining One West Waikiki (and humming the theme tune in my head as I type) and suffering from this syndrome to a high degree. It was, I think, the show RB was in just before TS (close enough, anyway) so he went from playing a homicide detective to playing... a homicide detetctive.

See how confusing it is?

Lt. Mack Wolfe is nothing like Detective Jim Ellison (why the difference in ranks? I don't know enough to know who outranks whom...) but he looks very similar, allowing for the different wardrobe. Mack is as incorruptible as Jim when it comes to the serious stuff, but he's an in-debt, gambling womaniser with a score of scuzzy get rich quick schemes on the side and a bit of a jerk at times.

But he still says 'Chief', he still has very little notion of personal space, and he still drawls, 'Riiiiight' now and then. And takes his top off often.

So whenever he's in a warehouse, gun in hand, looking out for the bad guy, I keep expecting

a. a zoom in on his ear or eye as he sees/hears something with his Sentinel powers

b. for him to drop the gun

It's very, very puzzling.

And there really isn't anyone to slash him with. Kimo is cute (think Zach from Bones) but he's no Blair.

And I'll wrap up with a rec; a lovely S10 Jack/Daniel fic from [livejournal.com profile] perfica here, part of her 'The Bottom Series'.

Oh -- and I got an anon comment on a typo in my last fic. Could just be someone with no account, or not logged in, but for the record; I am totally fine with people pointing out typos (or any other concrit). Pathetically grateful, even. No biting, promise. Spot one; tell me. I'll fix it.

ETA So not only did it not send me my comments for hours, log me in and out at random (still is), but I also missed a load of entries yesterday. Gah. LJ, I love you, I do, but sometimes...
This is a thank-you fic for [livejournal.com profile] nakedwesley who sent me some yummy Colin Cunningham goodies, including a signed photo which reads (the cutie-pie!) 'To Jane - I miss you! Come home!' and three hearts ::Jane melts to mush whilst grinning::

She asked for this pairing and some h/c and angst; hope it fits; been a while (too long!) since I wrote them. It's not all that angsty; they snark too much :-)

Set nowish but no spoilers, around 1900 words.
