[livejournal.com profile] helenkacan please, please tell me you added your birthday to your profile today because I swear you weren't on the birthday list yesterday and if you were I'm beyond sorry to have missed you. Ack.

Belated but most sincere birthday wishes to you; hope it was a splendiferously sparkly day :;much love:;

And today is the birthday of [livejournal.com profile] knitmeapony. I adore your user name so much; always makes me smile and I hope you are in the middle of a wonderfully happy day :;much love::

It is SO HOT. 36 C although the sun's shining on the thermometer so that's slightly higher; but then, add in the humidex and it's probably not far off. Or under! See how very much I'm not awake yet even though it's lunchtime.

We went, with our two and two of their friends, to see Shrek 3 last night. I'd seen bad reviews but, eh, it was okay. I laughed in places, Puss was cute and the use of two particular songs made me grin.

I must iron. There's more in the ironing pile (mountain) than there is hanging up.

I do not want to iron.

I see a conflict here.

Hmm.
I couldn't cap it; he's wiggling too much, heh, so I took the clip I had, trimmed it, added some captions, and here it is.

Around 16MB, three minutes. It's pretty fuzzy but that's what happens when they don't give us DVDs, darn it.

ETA Link expired but the scene is in this one:

I might have found a way to rip the VOB files a bit at a time so I can put up some more clips from that episode (the start is seriously adorable as RB's real dog is there and he's in this muscle shirt at the beach and...)

There may be a watermark as I'm just using a trial version but let me just see.

I'm excited because I'm technically useless and I've been trying to get the pretty pictures OFF the shiny disc and INTO the computer all afternoon with no success :;surreptiously wipes the teethmarks off the DVD::

Okay, here's more from the Manpower episode.

What do you get?

Mack visiting his injured friend and fellow cop in hospital. You would have given anything to have a scene like this at Blair's hospital bed, believe me. Anything.

Mack getting ready to go on stage (the wig! With the pony tail! The earring!)

Mack on stage (yes, I already did this but what the hell)

Mack off stage, bare chested, sweaty, talking to Holly in the dressing room. Is it hot in here? Yes, it is.

Mack squiring the lady villain to a party wearing an open leather vest over his bare chest. Good look, Mack... here, meet Vice!Jim; you'll get along great. Well, he is undercover still, I suppose.

Mack being heroic and fighting and then cunningly luring a corrupt fed to his death. Jim would have wanted to do that but would have been noble. Mack... takes a dim view of feds who get his men killed. Okay, maybe Jim would've let him die, too.

Another cute scene with that T-shirt (I love that T-shirt and the way it gapes at the sides...) and RB's dog.

It's about 10 mins and 60 MB

See, this is what we are, this is what we do when we're moved, disturbed, threatened. We did it to FanLib when we slashed Pink Guy and Blue (not to mention the pinata...) and we'll do it in the wake of what's happened this week. This is why I love it here. Not the place, the people who make the place.
