I made a story banner. I mastered (loose translation of the word) cutting around things and pasting on and figured out feathering (sort of) and at one point had four images on the background before I realised it looked too much and went for something simpler. But I could have had them if I'd wanted to! And I worked out how to toggle between open images instead of reopening them each time (duh).

So quick sneak preview because I haven't actually finished the story yet and that's more important, but still! Banner! By me!

I made it black and white as a cunning way to make it all look less pasted on...then spent ages wondering why I couldn't turn the text a different colour.

Any suggestions for improvement gratefully received, as ever.

banner, cut because I'm kind and it might make you wince not because of the banner's contents but the ineptitude on display )

I just wrote four pages of 'Boundaries' in the car as I waited for E to finish her soccer practise. I'm now studying them dubiously.

Why can't I write legibly anymore? I was scribbling, sure, but it's less words than a freeform wavy line.

I'm resisting the urge to press the paper against the monitor and hope the words magically import into Word.

Cut and paste, the old-fashioned way ;-)

I don't know why I did it; it takes forever to transcribe so it's not really a time-saver. But it occupied the hour, I guess.
Part of David's candy haul from England, among the innocent jelly babies, the tangy-sweet sherbet lemons, were...

Fruit Allsorts.

Labelled proudly 'No liquorice here!'

My world went a weird shape for a moment there.

Liquorice Allsorts, apart from the ones with the pink or blue bobbles on, were never my favourites but they're a cherished part of my childhood nonetheless.

And I just ate one of these imposters and it tasted like Play Doh.

We are not amused.

(Yet somehow I ate another as I was typing this. Oh God, they taste vile, take them away!)
