Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] rusty_halo! Do hope today brings you much happiness in every way it possibly can :;much love::

And David just got back from the airport (redeye from California) and is in bed, so I'm going back to tidying around on tiptoe as we have to leave at 1.00 to go back to the airport and get his mum. Her flight's on time, which is nice, and I hope we have some good weather for her; she lives on the Welsh border and it's soggy and cold there right now, from what I hear.

Won't be around as much for the next few weeks (the kids start summer vacation today as well) but I'll still be here because, well, how could I not be?
Pat just arrived from the UK with pressies for all, including some Paddington books and some Paddington books on CD, read by Stephen Fry, free with a newspaper.

Paddington Bear, for those who don't know him, is written by Michael Bond (who also writes, for adults, the awesome Monsieur Pamplemousse and his dog Pommes Frites detective series; love those).

He is a bear from Darkest Peru who eats marmalade sandwiches and was found by the Brown family at Paddington Station.
title or description

Darkest Peru.

You see where I'm going with this, right?

If Paddington isn't the perfect guide for Jim when Blair's not around, well...

ETA: I do not mean Jim/PB slash, omg, no. Just PB there, earnest and sweet and remembering Jim from the jungle, yisss...

ETA 2. Go see this from [livejournal.com profile] boji with the PB theme tune (yes it was a TV show as well as a book).
