The Sentinel 'Boundaries' 1/4 Jim/Blair R

Here is the first part of 'Boundaries', my Sweet Charity fic. It's around 33,000 words, so I decided to post in four parts as that's too long for LJ in one go. I might be going away this weekend so I'll probably post another part tonight and the rest tomorrow. It's not a cliffhanger type story, don't worry.

This story was bid on by the very wonderful and generous ponders_life and she asked for something I hadn't written before; an older Jim and Blair who'd been apart for some time; a reconciliation after a rift.

The angst of splitting them up nearly killed me but I enjoyed the challenge and she came up with so many appealing details to work in that I can honestly say I loved every minute spent writing this, so thank you very much! ::hugs::

Many thanks also (always!) to t_verano for a painstaking and wonderfully helpful beta reading. She stopped them from sounding English and made sure a pretty complicated story worked. And when I was in the throes of despair (you can love a story and still sob over it but I don't need to tell you all that) she was supportive and encouraging :;loves:;

The story is told from Blair's POV throughout and in a series of alternating flashback/current time sections, until the past catches up to the present and the story goes on from there. The current time is set now, 2007, the flashbacks go from about S3 to some months after the show ended.
