Tomorrow, David's parents and two of their friends arrive, staying until Saturday morning when they jet off to Calgary on the first leg of their Rockies/Vancouver holiday ::envies::
I've been tidying,naturally, but on top of that, we're relaying and expanding the hanky sized patio. In heat warning temperature and the blazing sun becasue the weather decided to get hot and it's over 90 here (30+ C)
We ripped up all the flags, got more from the shop, tore up a three foot wide strip of turf around the old patio shape on all sides and dug down about 8 inches. The turf got dumped to one side to compost down, the soil went onto David's veggie garden, raising it considerably. We put down the weed barrier stuff today.
Did I mention we bought a new wheelbarrow?
Tomorrow, at 10.30, the gravel gets delivered and we have five hours to wheel it around to the back garden, lay it, level it, replace the slabs and level them off.
Hmm. I think the vistors might be sitting on the grass looking at the patio, not the other way around.
Now I need vodka, the couch, and the NCIS finale + Glee.
And OMG, Chuck was INCREDIBLE. Eleanor and I were blown away. She wants me to write her Casey/Morgan fic for her birthday, bless her. I agreed, but said it would have to be PG, if that.
