[personal profile] wesleysgirl and I are a tag away from 40,000 words on our new book together. Not bad for 18 days of writing ::high fives her:: This one will be coming out early next year; maybe February.

I watched the new Hell's Kitchen. Uh...this is some weird spoof version, yes? It's not meant to be taken seriously? David usually watches it with me, but he left the room. Raj is...I have no words. The previews seem to indicate things go downhill. I've never seen such an unprofessional bunch of incompetents. The show used to have people who could actually cook on it and had a spare brain cell or two. A few seemed average, the rest..sheesh.

Then I watched Top Chef Desserts and had to avert my eyes from the emotional meltdown of one of the contestants. Embarrassment squick kicked in big time.

When did reality TV get so violent?

The price of gas changed as I was filling my tank. I glanced up, saw it was a dollar five a litre, glanced down, back up, and the digital sign had gone to 96 cents. I was flailing. I'm in an alternate universe! What else has changed? I need to know! I worked out that the change saved me about a dollar fifty so I bought a large Timmies, double milk one sugar, and a Canadian Maple donut to celebrate.

I've got two episodes of Mad Men to watch and then I'm all caught up. I've mailined three and a bit seasons in as many weeks and it's going to be odd having to wait a week for new episodes. Such a good show. So compelling.

The wind is howling right now and it's incredibly warm. I feel a storm coming. I was driving along the main road today and moved out a lane to pass a bus. A blue recycling box on the side of the road was lifted as if by an invisible vandal, and tossed in front of the bus, which hit it, bottles, boxes flying everywhere (I just missed a glass bottle) and then the bus dragged it along, wedged under its bumper, until the next stop.

New SPN! On a Friday! That's apocalyptic right there.

It actually doesn't feel that long since the last season. Weird.

I suppose I should go and whip up something nutritious and delicious for tea.

Or watch another Mad Men.

ETA Which I've just realized is an adult, skewed, non-magical version of Bewitched, one of my all time favourite shows. No wonder I like it :-)

Hmm.
