Lauren was at a sleepover so in retaliation for Eleanor making me watch the first episode of Junjo Romantica (definitely rife with consent issues but, yes, hot, and canon slash never a bad thing) I made her sit down with David and me to watch the first episode of Firefly. It was the proper first episode, that, you know, got everyone onto the ship, not the one Fox ::spits:: aired first where they were already there. She loved it, but is having trouble keeping all the names straight.
I made her have hysterics last night. I was glugging down a glass of water and noticed a fly in it. I rushed to the sink, tipped out the water and spat out the mouthful. Eleanor said the polite version of 'wtf, Mom' and when I told her, she started laughing and couldn't stop. I've never seen her lose it like that. She was doubled over, crying, making little squeaky noises. Heh.
He wasn't quite that bad, but the young man who helped us in the shoe shop came close. Lauren was trying on new soccer boots and assuring us that yes, the right one felt fine. I picked up the left one and it was a right one, too. Puzzled, we tried to work out what'd happened that there were two right shoes in the box...but no, it was just that Lauren was walking around with a left boot on her right foot ::facepalm::
Still writing at top speed with Alexa. OMG, this book is so good. Can I say that when I'm writing it? I'm saying it anyway. I can just see Austin and Jay's apartment in my mind and Liam's house, too, as if I've been there. It's going to make me sniffle when it's over. Wordcount, well, it's been nearly 12 days and we're at 55,000 words, around 4,500 a day.
Not that copious amounts of writing excuses the fact that I went to the fridge and found a bag of liquifying carrots at the back of one of the crisper drawers. I didn't know carrots DID that. I blame it on the fact that in the new fridge those drawers are big enough to hold the crop of three medium-sized farms.
Supper's almost ready and our local micro-brewery brought out a summer beer; Blackberry Wheat. We treated ourselves to two bottles.
We also bought bigger posts for the hammock and more cement or concrete or whatever. Did I tell you all that during our party two weeks ago, David sat in it and the post snapped, bringing him crashing down? Maybe I did... These are 6X6X 8 ft. Fingers crossed...
