The vet called and though the infection seems under control finally, thank heavens, the level of ongoing pain is such (there's bone exposed on the back paw) that she's going to remove some toes. One on the front, one, possibly more, on the back. She did talk of removing the whole back leg but I vetoed that. He hasn't set that back paw to the floor to walk on for weeks now it's so bad.

So he's in there now being operated on.

Will keep you posted as soon as I have more news.

I'm devastated that it's come to this drastic measure but he's a fighter, my Tally, and I hope that by spring he'll be walking again and I'll be able to pick him up and hug him.
