My friend who lives at the bottom of the hill just called to say her road is full of police cars, SWAT teams, unmarked vans and such, and there's an ambulance and an an explosives van parked outside her house and the word is the house on the corner has a hostage situation going on.
I have her kids with us luckily.
Can't find anything about it at all online or the local news but it's been going on for about an hour now.
Hopefully all of the above is precautionary and it's less serious than it sounds.
ETA It's in the online paper, but no details:
Police tactical officers were called to the area at about 1:30 p.m., but no other details are being released.
No cars or pedestrians are being allowed through the area.
An ambulance has been called to wait on standby at a police command post on Forest Road
ETA 2 April just called and said the house is yellow-taped off but traffic is being allowed to flow and the police are packing up. I guess we'll find out more on the news....
