I posted on
angstytimelord's LJ and got a reply from a friend:
http://angstytimelord.livejournal.com/962353.html?thread=2221617#t2221617Excuse me for butting in, but since angstytimelord can no longer access this journal in any way (her temporary access via a proxy server which allowed her to post this post has now also been blocked), she cannot reply to you.
I realise I cannot confirm the details explicitly, since it isn't happening to me directly, but I can advise you of what she has told me.
She received a reply from lj support, after she emailed them to ask why she could not access her journal, which stated "the homosexual content in your journal could be damaging to some LJ readers."
They have also said that while they don't intend to delete her journal at this time, they also will not remove the block which is preventing her access to it and have given no indication if they ever intend to do so, or what might or might not happen next.
She is also not the only one affected. Two other users have confirmed that they too are experiencing the same issues, and there are probably more that we are not yet aware of.
I hope that helps clarify things somewhat.I...am still not convinced. If it's true, I'll be right there complaining to LJ in the strongest terms but this is too bafflingly dim-witted even for LJ. Freeze slash journals and LJ is in an ice age.
We need a name for it ;-) Damagegate?
ETA And one more bit from the friend which has me totally convinced it's bogus:
Sadly, aside from that quote in my earlier comment (which she posted elsewhere after getting the email) I have no other evidence to offer you, since in her fury at their reply (which I'm sure we can both understand) she chose to delete the email without noting the name of the staffer concerned, and her trash-folder had auto-emptied before she went back to find it so it can't be retrieved.
