I adore Fossil bags. They're foncy (Lauren's word; it's a step up from 'fancy') enough for me to feel the glow of treating myself to something nice without being so ridiculously priced that the glow is diminished by guilt. Plus, I got it at Winners and they're more than half-price there.

My current cheapie bag has a ripped lining and I keep losing things so I decided I was going to get a new one and go for a Fossil one. David was blankly uncomprehending but guys and purses exist in parallel universes so after I got very eloquent (dipping into incoherence here and there) about the importance of a handbag to me as the depository of all that matters most and would save me in the event of a zombie uprising, he stopped sighing when I headed toward the purse section. After weeks of looking, I got this one. I'd seen it before and dithered, but it got marked down even more and it seemed like a sign. It's more of a winter bag color-wise but I love the rich brown and the old-fashioned feel to it.
