Okay, back to full-on bounce again. Despite floods of tears as L wanted to wear thick fleecy pants to school that were half way up to her knees they were so short on her.

I woke up to find that the new SGA episode had d/led very fast so I must have been a seed for about 6 hours (that's good, right?). I'm only up to 2.3 so I won't be watching it for a couple of days, but nice to know that it's there waiting.

And I've had a short story accepted for the Birthstones Single Shot range at Torquere Press! It's the broomsticks one I mentioned and it's coming out in January sometime. Many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] wesleysgirl who read and commented as I wrote it and then very kindly beta read it once it was done ::snuggles her::

And thanks to the people who've read and commented on part two of Falling For You the original fic about the guys who chop trees. I know original fic isn't what most of you are here for so I do appreciate it when people take a chance and give it a go.

Kitchen Confidential... put me in the 'meh' camp. Funny in places and the lead was cute enough but I wouldn't have watched it if NB hadn't been in it and as it clashes with Guides/library volunteering/watching SG-1 I doubt I'll be making an effort to watch it again. Glad to see NB doing a good job with what little he was given though.

And just to round off a post of random flittings from one thing to another, I've been re-reading Agatha Christie for the zillionth time. Boy, does she ever need a beta! It's the first re-read since I started writing myself and things I never noticed before are leaping out at me, most notably the repetition which, as a beta, I'd be red-lining right away. She's got this habit of repeating dialogue descriptors within the space of a few sentences like this:

Elinor said impatiently:
"It just struck me as funny, that was all!"

"That Mary Gerrard was making a will? Why? Making a will is a perfectly sensible procedure. Saves a lot of trouble. Sometimes of course, it _makes_ trouble!"

Elinor said impatiently:
"Of course - everyone should make a will. I didn't mean that."

I'm awed by my cheek but I can't help it. And she keeps on doing it. Driving me mad.
