We're just back from Chapters; why did no one tell me the new Diana Gabaldon book was out? ::accusing stare:; I didn't buy it though; on the Chapters website, with my discount card, it was around $26; in the shop $40. I nabbed an assistant and demanded to know the whys and wherefores and she said that the webpage was separate. Okay, I said, but you always knock 30% off the best sellers; what gives? She said -- wait for it -- it's only just come out, so it's not a best seller yet .
This is Diana Gabaldon, they had a huge display of her books as you walked in, and the author is coming to sign copies very soon. It's impossible for it not to be a best seller and I'm damned if I'm paying $14 more for it.
So there.
Supernatural was great; really do think it's found its stride and, okay I'll duck behind a cut...
The Dean sprawled on the bed in boxers scene, as others have mentioned, was hot, hot, hot, Dean's vulnerability and fear rounded out his character nicely and although the black fog was meh, the idea of it all and the crashes were very scary and well-done. Nice to see someone outside their circle who knows them and also interesting about the demon saying Jessie is 'still burning; which gave me shivers, because if true, so is their mom and eep.
I still get a slashy vibe from them but I'd be quite happy with gen fic too. They snark so nicely!
