We always browse the reduced shelf in the bakery section of the supermarket. We just do. This time they had a loaf of bread there, one I'd tried a cube of when they were promoting it and giving away samples. I decided to get some. It started out life at nearly $5 and even reduced was $2.70. This is a smallish loaf mind you, we're not talking feed a family of five for a week or anything.

It's handbaked, probably hand ground flour, covered in flat grains that get all over the place when you cut it, dense and nutty, probably give you concussion if it landed on you...but is it, was it ever, worth $5?

I sometimes think that even if I were rich, part of me would still have a built in limiter that refused to pay over the odds for something.

While I'm here; I see people are cutting down on their friends lists; seems like everyone's doing it. Well, I can cope with mine just about, (unless one day you all post at once, in which case I'll freak), and I love you all, so I'm not chopping at it ::hugs:: but if anyone is debating whether or not they can live without my mundane mutterings, I promise no recriminations, no pouting and no howls. Besides, you can always friend me again if the withdrawal symptoms get too much ::grin::
