It's Mother's Day on this side of the Atlantic. Lauren made me a card at school (the only sort I want; I've inherited a loathing of the rip offiness of this day from my mother; never have we gone in for vastly inflated priced flowers or meals out. We figure you show love all year around, not just one day, plus gouging little kids out of their pocket money isn't cool.) My main present is that they've all gone off to do the food shopping and left me alone for an hour, which, back when the children were babies was sometimes all I would've asked for if a genie popped out of a bottle.
I will tidy in peace and enjoy the quiet.
