Distant Horizons
Xander was waiting for the first piece of road that he’d never seen before, never travelled. The car was as eager as he, the engine racing and hot. Home lay behind him – he’d almost crashed the car turning to give the ‘Welcome to Sunnydale’ sign a derisive finger – and a summer of discovery lay ahead.
It just didn’t get any better. Buffy and Willow got a stray, sympathetic thought. Trapped, poor things, doomed to more school and more Sunnydale, whereas he, the daring, bold explorer, was...pulling into Oxnard.
“Quick stop for coffee,” he thought. “Got a long way to go.”
