I'm raising my ability to witter a day away with no visible results to new highs. Of course, every time I try and tidy I get dizzy and list to the side. I'm so snuffly it isn't true.
I'm also upset to find that my parents went home with this bug and mum especially is very poorly; bronchitis and a tummy upset and is on antibiotics and had to have the doctor visit which they just don't do usually.
Dad and I croaked at each other for a while on the phone and I updated him on the flood.
Which is fixed! David and I, after several attempts to bodge it, gave up and bought a new piece of copper pipe (I kept thinking of Buffy in Flooded) and melted the solder on the old bits, pulled it out, resoldered in the new bit and some extra bits and bobs.
No leak... except from the water board's own connection with the meter which had a 'do not tamper' seal which prevented us from tightening it. So I rang them and begged touchingly for permission to snip the plastic tie and no, honestly, we wouldn't turn the meter back (like we'd know how) and they said, sure, go ahead.
Still a faint welling of wet from it but they came out this morning, put in a whole new meter and fixed their connnection, all for free. Yay!
So it cost about $80 with supplies and new tools, I got to wield a blowtorchy thingummy (scary!), and we had no water for 24 hours.
To cheer us up, we took the kids to see Flushed Away (oh, the irony). Okay, but not so good it was worth seeing at the pictures which my God, costs a fortune these days.
Richard Burgi was on Desperate Housewives last night. For about 60 seconds. Still yummy and funny, though and let's hope he's back again. Seems they flew him in from Prague where he's filming Hostel 2 :;shudders:: I'll watch him and MS in dire dreck quite happily but gory horror? Cannot do it.
I'm getting the urge to vid again. I want to do a Sentinel vid but I don't know the episodes as well as you need to know to vid them, though that's easily fixed.
Plus I keep wanting to do a TS vid to Tainted Love and that's just so wrong.
Plus, too, I have a half-finished Stargate one.
And a million other things to do.
Aaaand we're back at me frittering my time away.
I almost finished Eclipsed and then realised it was terribly smut-lite for a fic I slapped an NC17 rating on way back when and my two snarky, got issues, boys were acting like they were in a Harlequin and getting incredibly schmoopy with each other. I've really lost Jack's voice. Paul, not so much, as he's mine in this rather than canon Paul. But it's almost there... I think.
Oh! I almost forgot why I began this post. You all keep going on about Heroes and I've found out (so late, so very late) that it airs on Monday here (I sort of thought it didn't and was too lazy to d/l).
Catch me up; what's it about? What do I need to know to watch it tonight and have a clue?
