Now that's more like it!
Lots of in the loft shots, and Jim's in his dressing gown for one of them, or looking yummy in a roll-neck sweater (and Blair in a denim shirt? Oh, my, yes).
Okay, that was shallow. I just like seeing them at home together.
Moving on...
Total teaminess here; the Jim/Blair team, that is, because they were very much isolated from everyone else in this. Simon was... well, he did his best, given his totally pragmatic personality and genuine inability to believe in ghosts. Which is fair enough; Jim's abilities are one thing but they're still physical and Simon's not clued in on the mystical side. Simon was surprisingly tolerant.
Unlike Rafe, Brown and Taggert... jerks. And they were messing about at a crime scene, too; really not on and more than a little out of character; they came over as mean, with their mockery directed at Blair, and usually those three are so friendly. Blair's question to Jim: 'Were you in on this?' was just heartbreaking; Blair's tough enough to stand up for himself but I think if Jim had been part of the joke it would've hurt Blair.
But Jim wasn't, and that's just how it should be. in fact, not surprising given how the epsiode starts, Jim's quite protective of Blair in this.
Loved the closeness and the easiness between them. There's that one flash of anger/panic from Jim at the start when he slams his hands down on his desk and stands up (with Blair not backing down an inch) but he soon calms down and doesn't argue with anything Blair does, including letting himself get hooked up to all the vital signs monitoring.
And how much did I love that Blair has a nifty EMF detector? Dean would be so jealous :-)
Jim's almost reverent attitude to Molly was very sweet and thank God they kept it that way; the hand clasp and the kiss on the cheek were nice.
And it ended with Jim turning to Blair and resting his hand on his shoulder; grounding himself again in the here and now.
Left me feeling good.
