Just found out it's the birthday of ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
cofax7 so sending out more happy birthday wishes!
We've returned triumphant(ish) from the tree hunt. We go every year to the same place so this is our ninth or tenth (too tired to count on fingers) trip. Never have we come away without one but it was close today.
After much tramping around in circles we spotted a lone tree off on its own and it was perfect; right height, not too bushy, a sprinkling of cones. We were ecstactic.
Then an older couple a few hundred yards away called over that it was theirs and they'd put it there while they carried on looking.
Our parents brought us up right, all four of us, so the Davitt family carefully replaced the tree and called out 'Sorry! Thanks! Not a problem!' in cheery voices.
Whilst muttering savagely about how it was OURS and who bagsies trees and why didn't one of them stop with it and not fair, dammit, our tree, ours.
