God, I can hardly type this...it's 11.40 and David's out, playing indoor soccer (don't ask why they're scheduled to play at 11.00 p.m some nights...men). There was just a knock on the door, a loud sharp knock. I went, peeked out of the glass at the top, wondering who the hell it was so late,as David has his keys and isn't due back for another hour...and there was a policeman standing on the doorstep.
I opened that door and just looked at him. I must have looked odd because he gave me a really strange look and said there were some kids out doing property damage all along the street and they'd smashed the cover of the Rogers cable box at the edge of our lawn. As I was waiting for him to tell me David was dead in a car accident or something, this didn't really have much of an impact.
My legs and arms are all trembly.
