This week, the theme is taking a line of dialogue and having another character say it. Here's mine.
Original dialogue from ‘Bad Girls’.
GILES: You seem to know a lot about them.
WESLEY: I didn't get this job because of my looks.
History Repeating Itself
The young man looked so depressingly familiar. Himself, over twenty years ago, fresh from demon raising and still shaking, ironing himself flat, pressing out every drop of rebellion and letting the starched suits hide trembling knees.
“So you elected to remain here? Very misguided, if I might say so. Your influence can only be a distraction to the Slayer.”
“I stayed to help her fight. I’m good at that.” He smiled grimly. “I didn’t get this job because of my looks.”
Wesley looked at him knowingly. “That’s not what I heard.” He paused. “Quentin sends his regards, by the way.”
