The place where they make Fanboy and Chum Chum has a fanboard where they stick up the best pieces of fanart they find online to inspire them and Eleanor made it!!!

She's on the bottom row, third from the right as you look at it, under the pic with the hearts.

She's bouncing up and down here :-)

Proud Mommy Moment. Eleanor just posted a calendar of art she's done in each month on Deviantart; so good! You can click to make it bigger.

A lot is comic based; Fanboy and ChumChum, Powerpuff Girls...the green girl is her own PPG; Viper.

It's here.

Well, her artwork, anyway. The YMCA is doing a Peace Project and as part of it, they're displaying art in the local City Hall, including two pieces by Eleanor. We went to see them and took a picture. The purple one says, We can't just wish for our peace, one person at a time and the other We R 1.

They weren't just painted on; they were etchings of some sort on clear film. Not sure how that worked :-)

So proud of her!

Photos under the cut.

Eleanor posted some Fanboy and Chum Chum original art at Deviantart and the creator of the cartoon saw it and gave her some lovely feedback (he's commented to her before).

Had a minute to see some messages and I'm glad I did because this is really great! Made my Saturday.

The central figure is an FB and CC version of Eleanor (sort of).

Fun stuff first: Eleanor just found out that her Invader Zim vid got an Honorable Mention in the vid competition at the convention!

That is so cool. Very proud. Considering she sent it to them the day before the con, they were very kind to consider it at all.

And the fan girls got Andy Berman to say, in Dib's voice, 'I love you, Zim!' at a panel which E has just incorporated into her new vid, heheh. They had the Zim/Dib puppets kissing too. ZADR rules! :-)) (Zim and Dib Romance, apparently)

The flood has been conquered. David managed to come home around 2.00 and we bought 12 ft of copper pipe (Rona kindly cut in in half so we could get it in the car) and we spent a couple of hours replacing all the old pipe on the wall that seems to keep springing the leaks. David's got a metallurgy degree so playing around with blowtorches and solder is fun, Fun, FUN! Until some of the flux stuff dripped on him.

My arms are killing me from holding up pipe near the ceiling but fingers crossed, all is fixed.

I forgot to say that we got a new mattress yesterday. Not that I have to say, but it's often useful to write these things down. Our old one was 14 years old and David and I kept waking up feeling like the Tin Woodman sans oil.

So in a speedy shopping expedition, we bought one, just like that, returning to the first shop, as you do, and it got delivered the very next day.

It is astonishingly high. Seriously, a foot higher. And I bought new pillow which are Everest high too. The girls stared at it in awe and predicted we'd fall out of bed and break things. I pointed out that since we never do fall out of bed, why would we start now, but they were unconvinced.

It's all stuffed full of latex and memory foam and it sort of engulfs you so turning over is a workout but it's very comfy.

Okay, I'm shattered. Off to watch NCIS with an ice-cold vodka and coke...
Eleanor discovered that there's an Invader Zim con in Georgia this weekend (too far, alas!) and then shrieked in agony and pain when she saw they were calling for vids to show and it was too late to send one. The deadline was March 11, but she sent one in anyway and a very kind person there is going to include it anyway from the looks of the email he sent back.

My baby. So proud.

If anyone wants to look at it, there's a download link here: 150MB, so quite a big file

http://www.mediafire.com/?l0cftcslxhsauc4

Or it's here on YT

http://www.youtube.com/user/TheEleanorose#p/u/42/uroAXwduQgQ

It's called 'What About the World Today' and it's to a song by Ana Johnsson called 'We Are'. The theme's about taking responsibility for the planet.

Details of the con are here if anyone wants to go:

If it was in Toronto, you can bet the Davitt family would be there and Lauren has some Gir ears she could've worn :-)

[profile] eleanorose123 did a great vid, multi-fandom, about bullying, set to Superchick's 'Hero'. She's got a real knack for getting the emotions out there. The song does mention cutting/teen suicide.

[profile] eleanorose123 has done an Invader Zim vid to the Marilyn Manson version of 'This is Halloween' and by The Tallest, it's pretty awesome :-)

She got her BFF to post it to YT for her and it's here (definitely good to watch in full screen)

Someone on YT ran a competition for vids (AMVs) set to Adam Lambert songs. Sixty entries and five winners, plus a handful of Hon Mentions, one of whom was Eleanor with a really cool Invader Zim vid set to Mad World.

She's getting so good at these ::is left in the dust::

Last year, Eleanor and some of her friends wrote a play called 'Text Ya Later'. It's about a girl who finds the cell phone of the most popular girl in school and hangs onto it for a day, getting all the girl's text messages and an insight into her life which isn't as trouble-free as it seems.

The drama club put it on, with Eleanor playing one of the roles (totally stole the show in her scene and brought the house down, not that I'm biased at all. Ahem).

And then their teacher sent it to a publisher and we heard today that they're publishing it! The children will get royalties for it every time it's performed and when the screenplay is sold and they have to sign contracts and such.

So proud of her.

Eleanor's just done her first Ouran High School vid and I said I'd mention it here as I know some of you are anime fans.

It's on You Tube here : Butterfly.

Any con-crit would be very welcome, I'm sure. She's very keen on vidding and icons. And tomorrow she turns 13 and can get her own You Tube account :-)

Eleanor (11) just came downstairs and read this to me. I'm putting it here, exactly as she wrote it, so it stays safe, as the piece of paper might disappear and I want to save this.

So proud of her.

I think this world would be a better place in which to live:

If countries could settle their differences without hurting anyone.

If everyone smiled at even people they didn't know.

If nobody had to steal.

If people laughed more.

If we all took more pride in our homes and our neighbourhoods.

If we respected our senior citizens more.

If there were no violence in movies and television.

If everyone could read and write.

If families talked more.

If friends hugged more.

After all, we're all in this together.
