I've used it for years, with automatic renewal. It popped up this morning to tell me to upgrade to '09 for free so I dutifully downloaded it and opened the set up file.
Which crashed. Norton told me it was an error they couldn't help me with (rare! different! special!). I rebooted, redownloaded, system restored, it made me uninstall so I've been without protection all day and in the end I disabled autorenewal and bought a new copy.
Which did exactly the same thing. I attempted to do an online chat (the FAST way to solve your problem!) and was told I was 99 in line.
In the end, I'm not sure what I did. A better, more thorough uninstall and then I somehow (it's all fuzzy) started the install of the new product. I now have 366 days left, so it's added on the remnants of my previous subscription.
I was panicking, first because hello, viruses, second the email from them looked dodgy, full of html code and unfinished sentences.
It looks okay now, but I'm glaring at the chirpy message saying it hoped I had a pleasant experience buying from them.
No. I did not.
Only the fact that it's new Supernatural tonight is making me feel better.
