It was David's works do last night, so I donned a party frock and off I went. We didn't win a door prize (darn; they were nice ones, too, like trips to Bermuda) but we had fun. I got David up to dance once but the band were not all that awesome so I couldn't really blame him for not wanting to stay up there.
Anyway, here's me in my dress which sadly will have to be retired as when I went to the loo I noticed I was leaving a scatter of beads when I walked. The dress is covered in them and if one thread comes undone, they just keep slipping off. Oh, well. It wasn't noticeable and they were tiny. It still has lots on.
I'm miffed; the bathroom rug was in need of replacing so I got three new towels while I was at it, as the others were ancient. I washed them and got a ton of fluff off and got out of the bath anticipating their softness; fluff! Stuck to me all over! Three times I've washed them now and they're still shedding.
Sadly, the first wash, being efficient, I threw in my dressing gown. It's now cream with a fetching design of purple blobs. I tried hoovering it (and the towels) but it didn't work. The suction of the vaccuum doesn't budge them but they touch my wet skin and cling; go figure.
So, so busy; got a load of emails and comments to answer, one week to write 6,000 words and tidy the house for visitors arriving on Saturday to stay over Christmas :;whimpers::
I can do it :;takes deep breath::
