Just watched it and again, way loud on the music so I'm thinking it's an effect of transferring from computer to TV.
Wow, so much detail on the TV! So clear!
Okay, cut time...
I had to pause to go and grab a notepad (usually I pause and start typing but that's the price I pay for watching on 52 inches, not 17).
Then I paused to refill my vodka and coke and get some salt and vinegar crisps because I needed them to soak up the vodka and the diet can't start while they're still lurking in the house, right?
If I strip out the ! from my scribbled notes and put them here, it might save time:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also confess to tearing up (but not crying, just that stingy, choked up feeling) at two points which I will prefix with ### so you can skip my schmoopy bits if you like.
My first point was a trivial one as the lighting made it appear that Ronon's wig had acquired a pale red splash at the front like a poorly done highlight. I thought, oh, reflected light and then realized it was real and then it wasn't there, so I guess it was reflected light but it looked ridiculous and OMG why didn't they let him cut it once Jason did -- oh, never mind. Too late now.
I then backtracked and added a note about John's yearning to cuddle Rodney look when his woobie is pouting about the Wraith having all their cool toys now and, and, it isn't FAIR!
Why isn't Colin/MFD in the credits? :;taps foot:: He had just as many lines as Sam and way more than Walter.
Ooh! Kavanagh! My baby! I LOVE him. He said it how it was and I hated that they demonized him for that.
Why is Teyla in leather when it's completely not needed (and sweaty) and she usually wears a uniform? And why isn't Ronon in one? It's not like he wore that gear on Sateda or that he's in love with his whatever it is he wears. Moving on...
Todd and John have their own form of flirting, don't they?
### And we're back on Earth and I'm remembering that SG-1 was my show and dammit, I've missed the Gateroom. Plus, they mentioned Jack (who never showed! RDA wouldn't do a cameo? Huh?) and suddenly I went goose bumpy and wanted to watch an early SG-1 episode THIS MUCH.
Loved the nod to Don Davis. That was good. Yes :;is quiet a moment::
And there he is! Paul! My Paul! Major? WTF? Will you please promote him? Like, why the fuck not? Okay, I'm biased, but still...
Carson's the second best they have in the chair? Huh? Since WHEN?
God, the city looks pretty snowflaking through space.
I can't read anything for about three lines here. My writing is awful :;squints::
Oh! Wasn't there time to put the bloody chair in a truck and drive, drive like the wind? Hello?
And (was it you who was wondering
rodneyscat?) John does say the 'come on, baby' line; the music just drowns it out, I think.
My next note reads simply 'GTF away from Earth!'
Don't like seeing a hiveship above that green and pleasant land at all.
Then we discover that Atlantis is linked to the hive (Ha! Hoist with your own petard, Wraithybabies!) and I say simply, 'OOH! KEWL!'.
Followed by 'Why not send a bomb?' so I'm way ahead of the plot for once.
I want more vodka. Is that wise? Oh, heck, why not. It's snowing and it's Saturday. BRB.
The city can get to Earth in a flash? :;snorts:: Deus ex machina or what?
Love the silence as John's ship rises. After the last episode does anyone else feel thatnow McKay's with Keller John's determined to die in a blaze of glory?
Ronon! He died! He did! He died!
Keller looks gormless. I'm sorry, she does.
I felt that what John really wanted to say here was 'Give me a hug'.
### I teared up here. My notes make no sense, but I did.
"Am I interrupting something?" Ha! Yes. Although I like her. I forget her name (I'm awful on names) but she's cool. Cool enough to warrant being in the final shot? Nope.
So, did he do it? Did he kill him? :;quivers:; I don't know...he could, I know that much.
ACk :;spits:; ACK! Why did you have to make Rodney say something that banal, that un-Rodneylike? Oh, show...
So, it ends.
For now.
And yeah, good episode. The show lost its way for me somewhere and it's never going to have the place SG-1 had in my heart, but still... going to miss it.
Yes.
