The amazing [livejournal.com profile] bhayling has come across something that's making me flail a little as I try to wrap my head around RB being in a UK show (probably) while he was in Vancouver.

There's a new webisode show called Dr Hoo that sounds like Robert Rankin wrote it (he didn't, it's just got that feel to it). It's only viewable if you're in Britain (why do they DO THIS, AGH) and it stars Ian Hart as Dr Hoo and Elaine Cassidy ( Harper's Island) as his girlfriend Zara.

A manic depressive from Wales with a multi-personality disorder, he pronounces his surname Hoo. His real name is actually David Raymond Hugh.

Hoo is a strict vegetarian. He’s ecologically conscious and his primary concern is to save himself and the world around him. However, time is running out fast.

His assistant is the sexy bombshell Zara. She’s obsessed with the “other world” and is always seeking Hoo’s help to find herself in the modern world.

The relationship between Dr Hoo and Zara is complex to say the least - especially as Zara appears to live in Hoo’s head. As their lives unfold inside a garage in Borehamwood on the outskirts of central London, we’re left wondering whether they will ever get out.

Elaine Cassidy being in it explains how RB got involved as they've been working together on Harper's Island. He plays The Shadow and you can see glimpses of his face at the end of this promo YouTube vid for the show:

So...has anyone seen it? Is it any good? Is RB in it much? If yes, is there any way to share that doesn't involve me popping over the Atlantic to watch on my mum's computer? :-)

ETA RB is in episode ten, they're about two minutes long. Thanks for the input from the UK :-)

ETA2 [livejournal.com profile] gillyp, who is an absolute star, has snagged it for us:
