Midwife? Huh? Isolated snowy mountain midwife? Huh? I get the anvilicious link to Echo being reborn (slowly, with pain) as a new (if not Caroline) identity emerges, but that was plain silly.
Nice fakeout with the damsel in distress. Nice save of the guy at the end (though he wasn't an expert so how come, even wounded, he was all philosophical man? ).
Not as solid as last time but I'm definitely hooked. Joss does that to you; he builds this world and you keep getting distracted when you try to find the exit door.
