I just typoed 'The Fuardian' and was tempted to leave in in homage to their reputation for them but resisted :-)

They have an article today:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2009/apr/13/amazon-gay-writers

which does a good job of pointing out the knock-on effects for sales of what Amazon did (glitch or not).

My book (yes, it's all about me :-)) Wild Raspberries can still be purchased from Amazon, but without a sales ranking, who's going to know it's there?

Not as many people as before.

The irony is that I'm the one who in efficient promotion mode initially tagged it 'gay romance' 'gay fiction' and the rest so that it would show up in searches; those tags seem to be what's got it removed.

Conspiracy theories seem to be rife this morning; I'm just waiting for Amazon to come up with something a little more substantial than 'it was a glitch'.

They've had a long weekend; I can imagine there's some running around in circles flapping wildly going on, but I do hope that they produce something a little less simplistic and a little more apologetic than that within the next few days.

I got a reply from Amazon:

It said:
