Few episode thoughts, not overly squeeful about Psych, just to be frank. I also mention Human Target's season opener with spoilers for it.

So did Tim O's character die on HT? I saw his hand get pulped (ish! That was gruesome) and then the second shot and he was lying still...he made a good villian so I almost hope that he somehow survived -- and what about the book? It got shot too, but I'm sure it could've been salvaged.

I could do without the thief character (yawn) but I didn't mind the plot device of a rich benefactor from Torchwood. Miss the theme tune. Loved seeing our three guys back in action and all those guest stars. Fun, fun show. It's that slightly larger-than-life tinge to it that does it.

Psych on the other hand...::sigh:: It felt off. Flashes when it didn't, but they're walking thr0ugh it now and it's so self-referential. It used to be fast and snappy and now the pacing is off; it dragged. Badly. The dialogue between Gus and Shawn lost its sparkle.

I spent the first five minutes frowning. And snickering at the 'no touching in the station' rule because that never seemed to apply to Lassie...

So I get that Jules had a nice surprise for Shawn but come on! She didn't realize he would've made plans with Gus? And she got all pouty over Shawn going with Gus? And Shawn DITCHED AND LIED TO GUS? Well, okay, those two lie to each other a lot, but still.

The mystery was thin like tissue. It's not really that disrespectful to reopen 15 years after a death, or even to run it the next year. The murderer didn't look old enough either and why was the other guy in it with her? Did she kill her family for taking the money too? It was negligence, sure, and very tragic, but it wasn't something to kill over. Eh.

Where is Vick and why is Henry running the station? I cannot stress how much this bothers me. He was hired to be a part-time overseer of the department's consultants -- i.e. keep Shawn and Gus under control. Lassie is head detective; if Karen's missing, wouldn't he step in?

I won't stop watching the show and I love the fandom and the way the characters are in fic -- but after just rewatching all the episodes from the pilot it's noticeable that the show's lost a lot of what first got me hooked.

Words. I didn't like Shawn in this. At all. It was like he was flicking on and off (mainly off actually). It's the first time I've even skipped some parts. I thought the previous episode was really nice (except for the Shawn/Jules business which I don't find interesting) so the contrast was all the more striking.
