David's car was making the most awful clanging, clattering sound. I had to drive him in to work on Friday and it was doubly annoying because the cars need to have an emission test before their plate stickers are renewed, which has to happen before David's birthday on the 23rd and, and...

So yesterday David and his dad (Pat and Colin arrived late Thursday from the UK to spend the holidays with us) investigated and decided it wasn't the transmission but the brakes. Potentially expensive and fiddly.

Today they took the wheel off ---

It was a tiny stone! It must've gotten flung up from the road and lodged in there.

David has saved it :-)
