Going behind the cut.

Not nearly enough Steve/Danny. Not enough Chin. Danny and Kono had some good scenes together but Kono and the kid was a bit too deliberately heart-tugging, as was that dire 'cloud that looks like a seashell' bit.

Bottom line, a guest star can add to an episode but a star guesting on the show (different thing) eats away at it. I don't know most of these famous names the show keeps dragging over to Hawaii. I mean, I might have vaguely heard of them, but that's about it. They don't awe me and they don't interest me. Combs did okay, but he was on screen too much. I can see it from his POV; he feels like he's doing them a favor by appearing and wants to be front and center and that's entirely the wrong power dynamic IMO. He wasn't chosen because he fit the character that's been written; they wanted him and they wrote around him. Recipe for disaster or, at best, a meh episode which this one was.

And what with Steve doing all sorts with a broken arm and this guy on a sprint smashing through windows hours after being SHOT IN THE LIVER, and taking down armed officers without any trouble at all, I'm wondering if the island has vampires and it's catching and Steve's one of them, because, damn, that's some fast healing.

Show, just stick with the team going up against a baddie and stop importing more heroes. We've got our Fantastic Four already, thanks.

And yes, I thought Danny was cooking Steve brekkie because the poor baby was having trouble with the cast and all.

Silly me.

And does Steve EVER lock his doors? Ever?
