Dear [livejournal.com profile] glassslipper you don't show up on my birthday list, so I hope it is, but I saw someone else mention it. Hope it was a wonderful day, because you deserve it ::snuggles and hugs::

I'm peeking wide-eyed at the friending debate. Frankly it confuses me. I've never set up filters, friends lock only when I'm being bitchy about someone and friend for so many different reasons that they'd need about seventeen categories to cover them...I like it the way it is :;shrug::

I've also been friended by one of those weird people who seem to grab a hundred people at random their first day online. You know, it does bug me a bit. I can see why people get twitchy about it, even though logically I know there could be three million and six people reading this LJ and I'd never know.

I think the problem is that they're not doing it for the right reasons; because they want to read my babble. I doubt they even bother to check their friends list; why should they? No, they're doing it 'to annoy, because they know it teases' - is that from Alice? It feels like Carroll. As a mother, that kind of behaviour makes me feel like snapping out, 'young lady, go to your room and think about what you just did!'.

But whatever. Not going to stress over it myself; just get why it bothers some people.

And I thought of a game, related to the three word character meme. I say three words; you tell me who I'm thinking of. No, it won't be Giles and I reserve the right to pick obscure characters ;-) It's a game I want you to win too, so I'm not trying to trick you.

Ready?

1. insecure, driven, loyal

2. anxious, treacherous, chirpy

3. wise, warm, unassuming

4. tarnished, tricky, seductive

5. hungry, lonely, cruel

6. maternal, jaded, elegant

7. haunted, commanding, unbending

ETA: I will post answers when everyone's had a chance to play who wants to...but in some ways, there're no right and wrongs here; the character traits could work equally well for lots of different characters so don't anyone feel shy or blush if they get them all different from mine.
I think it'll work best if I do what I did for Giles and do a sort of mass reply (not just because I'm on a writing spree and a Spike/Wes birthday drabble is becoming a longer PWP, no not at all ;-)). I'm absolutely fascinated by the answers so far; this is neat and on some of them I'm thinking I prefer the ones you picked to the one I had in mind. Heh.

ETA2 [livejournal.com profile] furblewig has one too!
