murielle who just arrived and who's been a great friend to me on alt.tv.buffy-v-slayer.creative. I lured her over by waving the Sunday drabbles enticingly as she's just started writing them. So nice to have you here! ::hugs::
ETA Whee! I added you and that made 300 friends exactly. That's so cool...hang on. How many? Yikes! ;-)
It's also a birthday today; not someone on LJ, but Alicia, my best friend, who lives over in England. She's 40 today and all I can see is two eleven year olds running through the orchard of our school, pretending to be horses, until one of them (me) says, 'will you be my friend?' and the other (Alica) answers "Yes'. And we were. And we are. And in 29 years we've had two rows that I can remember, possibly three and I love her very much. I've seen her three times in the last seven years, but it doesn't make a scrap of difference. We get together on the phone or in rl and it's as we've never been apart. She's creative, friendly, endlessly patient and I wish I could be getting ready to go out on the town with her because we'd have so much fun...
Darn it. Now I'm getting all sniffly remembering stuff.
Oh and the friends whose dog died? They have a ten week old golden lab. They called the shelter to tell them what had happened and were told that the puppy, who'd been found wandering the streets starving (pause for me to grit my teeth in fury) was well enough and old enough to be put up for adoption that day; did they want him?
So they did. We'll see him at the weekend.I've seen a photo and he looks very cuddly.
And it's freezing and snowing again. Make it stop!
