It's snowing snowballs!

After that brief heatwave, it's cold. It just started to snow, small dry pellets. Then it stopped.

Then the kids yelled and I went to the window to see the weirdest snow ever.

Imagine clumps of snowflakes stuck together coming down in splendid isolation here and there, so heavy they almost thud, but still snow so they get a shimmy-float in there too. They're about the size of a jawbreaker, 1-2 inches across.

Clear sky and four or five clumps coming down now and then, that's all.

IT IS WEIRD. Clumped snow. Who knew?

Oh no, not another? So sorry. David's cousin's house in Christchurch is toast :-(

Oh, this was a local one. Small, but an interesting start to the day.

Sorry to hear about your cousin's house. So much of Chch is 'munted' as we say over here. It's putting tremendous strain on the house market down there.

His job meant he'd moved to Adelaide just before the major quake and yes, now he can't sell it, though he's getting some insurance money I think.

yeah we're slated to get it a little later this evening...we're east of Toronto.....so I expect a light covering by morning....

I'm so sad the blossom trees are now all frozen :-(

well I have seen many snowfalls in April so this is really NOT that unusual - and the trees seem to manage okay! fingers crossed! ♥♥

It was like that here; hardly any snow at all.

And then the sun came out this afternoon. At noon I was standing in front of a bonfire at my mother's house and needed the warmth because it was frelling cold.

Somebody messed up the recipe for hail. And sometimes getting a recipe wrong leads to something much nicer than what you were going for. *g*
