Police tactical officers were called to a residence at around 1:45 p.m. in response to a domestic dispute.

No cars or pedestrians were allowed through the area for several hours. An ambulance stood by at a police command post, though no other details were being released by police at the time.

About 45 minutes later, police entered the home and found the body of a man with an apparent gunshot wound. There are unconfirmed reports that a woman involved in the incident was taken to hospital.

Five investigators and two forensic investigators from the special investigation unit are now probing the circumstances around the shooting.

It's awful to think of us driving past earlier in the day not knowing what was going on inside it.

People are so stupid though; while it was going on my friend said a neighbor took his young grandchildren down there to see what was happening (uh, police in riot gear holding rifles are a good indicator that maybe you want to back away not get closer). And a woman in a car tried to squeeze past the police saying she wanted to go to the supermarket right by it.

Priorities, people! They had the bomb squad there for goodness sake!

Yeah, when the bomb squad is there, you'd think people would have a greater sense of self preservation but apparently not.

The urge to nosy is incredible. The number of second accidents there are, especially on motorways, because people are trying to see as much as they can of one that's already happened...

It's human nature, I suppose, but any sensible person would surely consider self-preservation more important than satisfyng curiosity.

It's the same mentality that sends people down to the beach to watch the tsunami come in (although I hope that the media available from 2004 and 2011 might discourage that piece of lunacy...)

I would certainly enjoy the opportunity for my loved ones to be up close and personal with someone barrelling out of a house with the determination to commit suicide by cop. /sarcasm

Man, I know this is terrible to say, but I hope she shot him in self defense, rather than both dead them in a murder-suicide.
