New computer keyboard isn't quite like old one.
Same monitor but everything looks different and despite endless fiddling with settings, it's not how we want it but we're coping.
Garden is producing tomatoes in incredible numbers. I'm hurling them into a pot as is (peeling is totally unnecessary) and making vast amounts of gloop that goes into lasagnas, pasta sauces and soup, but the damn things keep coming.
Trip on Lake Ontario to watch the air show from the water was wonderful. Perfect weather, calm water, had a great time.
Kids went back to school yesterday. Astonishing amount of housework done before nine a.m.
Not really surprising that there was an improvement in things done as I've been getting up at ten all summer...
Eleanor and I have just three episodes left of Teen Wolf. AAAAAAH, so exciting and twisty-turny! Really enjoying the wild ride, though when it stops we keep thinking of plot holes, but never mind that.
Rereading the Provincial Lady diaries for the who knows how manyth time and came across the perfect quotation. She needs to make a dentist appointment so she arranges it for after the kids are back at (boarding) school:
Have often wondered to what extent mothers, if left to themselves, would carry universal instinct for putting off everything in the world until after children have gone to school? Feel certain that this law would, if it were possible, embrace everything in life, death itself included.

I finally broke down and watched 1.01, 1.04, and 1.09-12. Good fun! Then I wanted to watch 2.04 and 2.06 but s2 isn't on Netflix yet and my "sources" have taken down all the TW. I'll just wait for Netflix. Fic is really where my heart is! Nnnngh!
Oddly, I am a naturally "get up at ten" kind of person but I can't sleep in after seven during summer--too much light.

My tomatoes are quite slow to ripen this year, though it's a fairly heavy crop. I've made two lots of soup so far and plan to puree a third batch this week, probably on Friday (cause on my own, there's no way I can eat the tomatoes off nine plants, even though they are bush tomatoes). Six would have been enough.

There are always too many tomatoes, no matter how many plants you put in :-)

It's worse in winter, because my mind tells me it's late about three hours after it gets dark, so I can begin to flake out by around 7, 7.30 around the solstice, and have to force myself not to go to bed quite that early. But dark mornings don't make any difference; I'm still awake by 6. And around the summer solstice I could (and have, on occasion) easily get up at 4.
